Dennis Erickson: ‘Alex is our kicker’

Dennis Erickson is not ready to make a change, not yet
anyway.
“Alex [Garoutte] is our kicker, and he’ll get better.”
Garoutte hit his first two field goals, including a 49-
yarder in week one against UC Davis. That try was his
first ever attempt as a Sun Devil and remains his season
long.
However, since that game Garoutte — who played his high
school ball at Phoenix Brophy Prep — has made only one
other field goal (47 yards vs. Missouri), going 1-of-4.
He missed a 35-yard attempt Saturday against Oregon State.
“We don’t have a lot of alternatives,” said Erickson.
Parker Flynn is listed as Garoutte’s backup on the depth
chart. Both are redshirt freshman.
