ASU with an easy(?) test against Colorado

Oct 27, 2011, 9:39 PM | Updated: 11:00 pm

On paper it would appear #21 ASU should have little
trouble against Colorado.

The Buffaloes are 1-7 and 0-4 in their first year of PAC-
12 play. They have lost five straight, six straight
against ranked teams and 21 straight away from home.

In addition, Colorado has lost 11 regulars in its two
deep—including six starters, due to injury.

The Buffaloes rank 107th in scoring offense (19.4 pts) and
117th in scoring defense (37.1 pts).

Factor in the Sun Devils are the third of CU’s last five
opponents to have a bye week prior to playing the
Buffaloes, and it’s easy to see why oddsmakers have made
ASU a 31-point favorite.

But, again, that’s all on paper. And as head coach Dennis
Erickson was quick to point out this week, games are not
played on paper.
