The passing offense wasn't the only thing that the Devils used to punish the Buffaloes; the ground game looked good. The Devils carried the ball 36 times for 207 yards and three touchdowns. The passes were flying in this match-up. Arizona State quarterback Brock Osweiler picked the Buffalo defense apart. He only completed 18-of-28, but that was good enough for 307 yards and two touchdowns. Freshman Nick Hirschman didn't appear in the game very long, as he was replaced by Tyler Hansen, but the Buffaloes would have needed Tom Brady in there to make a difference. They still put together 337 yards and a touchdown. However, five total offensive turnovers, including two interceptions, didn't help things. You. Stop. Here.
The Sun Devils defense came up big on Saturday. The Buffaloes threw quite a bit at ASU, but couldn't get much by. Colorado managed 22 first downs, but turned the ball over five times. No matter how hard they tried, Colorado just couldn't get the step on Arizona State. The Buffaloes have had a rough season and they were used as a stepping stone by the Sun Devils on their way to conquer the Pac-12 South.
