ASU to face “talented” UCLA team

Nov 3, 2011, 8:33 PM | Updated: 9:36 pm

So, which UCLA team will ASU face Saturday?

Will it be the team that allowed 48 points and lost by 36
to U of A? Or. Will it be the team that scored 31 points
and beat Cal by 17?

Sun Devil head coach Dennis Erickson is betting on the
latter.

“UCLA has a lot of talent on their football team,” he
said. “They totally dominated that Cal game, which Cal is
an awfully good football team. They’re good on defense
and offense. We’re going to have our hands full.”

Quarterback Brock Osweiler sees the same when looking at
the Bruins on film.

“They have a lot of talent across the board. They have a
lot of speed, size and great athleticisim. I’m expecting
a great game out of them.”

UCLA tested ASU early last season, jumping out to a 17-0
lead. The Sun Devils though ralllied behind Osweiler, who
came on in relief of a concussed Steven Threet, for a 55-
34 win. Osweiler threw for a career-high 380 yards and
four touchdowns on 27-of-36 passing.

UCLA this season has been a hard team to figure out. They
have not won consecutive games all year, alternating
between wins and losses since falling at Houston in week
one, 38-34; also the last time the Bruins scored more than
30 points in a game.
