Snapshot: Sun Devils stunned by UCLA in loss

Nov 6, 2011, 2:38 AM | Updated: 4:34 am

The defense may have played pretty poorly, but they still gave the Sun Devils a chance to win. They created a few key turnovers via fumbles, but the offense failed to capitalize on those. UCLA quarterback Kevin Prince wasn't given a lot of opportunities to throw. He only completed 11 passes, but those added up for 195 yards and a touchdown. Arizona State quarterback Brock Osweiler through a few rough passes, but had a good game overall. He hit 22 of his 38 attempts for 264 yards and two touchdowns. He didn't give up an interception either. Running back Derrick Coleman and the rest of the UCLA offense tormented ASU with the running game. Coleman posted 119 yards on 17 carries for two touchdowns. In all, UCLA opted to carry the ball 48 times and racked up 220 total rushing yards. Oh, I would hate to be Arizona State kicker Alex Garoutte when it's time to go to class on Monday. He missed three -- THREE -- field goals, including one that could have put the game away and one that would have won the game. No one who watched that game is going to let him live that down, nor they should they.
