Report: Miles’ status up in air for Maaco Bowl Las Vegas

Dec 19, 2011, 9:28 PM | Updated: 11:09 pm

The Arizona State Sun Devils are just days away from
taking part in their first bowl game since 2007, but
there’s a possibility that they won’t have their full
complement of players against Boise State on Thursday
night.

ASUDevils.com has reported
that junior do-everything player Jamal Miles could miss
the bowl game for disciplinary reasons.

Miles reportedly missed a practice and violated a team
rule.

Miles was a second team All-Pac-12 selection as a return
specialist, but was a key cog in ASU’s offense in 2011.
The Peoria High product caught 60 passes for 361 yards and
6 touchdowns, while running for 237 yards. On special
teams, Miles ran back two kickoffs and one punt for
touchdowns.

Sophomore defensive end Junior Onyeali was suspended for
the game on Monday by outgoing head coach Dennis Erickson
after the two reportedly engaged in a verbal altercation
during practice. Onyeali did not make the trip to Nevada
with the team.
