Former University of Memphis head coach Larry Porter is the
newest member of Todd Graham’s coaching staff at Arizona
State University.
An official title isn’t currently attached to Porter’s
position, but it is believed that he will coach running
backs.
Porter spent two seasons as the head coach at Memphis,
during which time the Tigers posted a 3-21 record. Porter
inherited a 2-10 squad when he took the job in 2009.
The 39-year-old Porter also has coaching stops at LSU (2005-
2009), Oklahoma State (2002-2004), Arkansas State (1999-
2001) and Tennessee-Martin (1998) on his résumé, serving as
running backs coach at each school.
Porter is also considered to be one of the best recruiters
in the nation. While on Les Miles’ staff at LSU, Porter
was named the National Recruiter of the Year twice (2007,
2009) by Rivals.com
