McShay: ASU’s Osweiler could be “steal of the draft”

Find me a player in this year’s NFL Draft class with more
differing opinions on him than former ASU quarterback
Brock Osweiler.
Go ahead, I dare you.
Some, like former Dallas Cowboys
general manager Gil Brandt, see Osweiler as a possible
late first round pick. Others, like NFL Films’ Greg Cosell, don’t see much in
the signal caller from Kalispell, Montana.
Todd McShay, one of the foremost NFL Draft experts from
Scouts, Inc. and ESPN, does believe Osweiler has a big NFL
future,
and he told Mike and Mike on ESPN Radio all
about it.
“There seems to be a little bit more desire to get
(Oklahoma State’s) Brandon Weeden because he’s ready to
play now, where as Brock Osweiler has a higher ceiling but
needs a lot more work.
“I think he’s the steal of this draft if he’s developed
properly. I’d love to see him in Denver behind Peyton
Manning.”
The Broncos, incidentally, have seven selections
in the draft, including one each in rounds one through
three, two fourth round picks and one each in the fifth
and sixth rounds.
