Sun Devil QB Brock Osweiler goes 57th to Denver

Many people questioned Brock Osweiler’s decision to leave
ASU early and enter the NFL Draft.
The decision, while iffy at the time, proved to be the
right
one for the QB, as he was taken in the second round of the
NFL Draft by the Denver Broncos Thursday.
The 6-foot-7 QB, who started every game his junior season,
completed 63.2 percent of his passes for 4,036 yards and
26
touchdowns in leading the Sun Devils to a 6-7 record.
However, any questions people may have had over Osweiler’s
relative inexperience (just 15 career starts) were
outweighed by the QB’s potential, as he has size, mobility
and one of the draft’s stronger arms.
And, as a second-round pick, Osweiler presents excellent
value as a player who can be developed as a QB and not
have
the expectations of an entire franchise placed upon him
early in his career.
Osweiler now gets the opportunity to tutor under future
Hall-of-Famer Peyton Manning and John Elway, the Broncos’
current executive vice president of football operations.
Elway was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in
2004.
