Former ASU coach Erickson hooks on with Utah
Dennis Erickson, who served as the head coach at Arizona State for five seasons, is back in the coaching ranks after a year away from the college game.

Erickson, 65, will share the offensive coordinator duties with Brian Johnson, who will turn 26 this month. Johnson, who played quarterback at Utah, joined the staff of head coach Kyle Whittingham in 2010 at the age of 23.
The Utes ranked 11th in the Pac-12 and 105th nationally in total offense in 2012, averaging just 324.4 yards per game.
Erickson brings a wealth of coaching experience to Salt Lake City, although he hasn’t served as a coordinator since he guided the offense of San Jose State in 1981.
The Sun Devils went 31-31 during Erickson’s tenure in Tempe.
He’s best known for winning two national championships while coaching at the University of Miami (1989, 1991) and helping turn around a dormant program at Oregon State.
