The Arizona State Sun Devils added one of the Big 12’s better teams to their future non-conference schedules.
The school announced on Tuesday it had agreed to a home-and-home series with Oklahoma State University, with the first game set to be played on Sept. 10, 2022 at Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater.
The Sun Devils and Cowboys will then face off in Tempe on Sept. 9, 2023.
“I am excited about the series with Oklahoma State University,” ASU coach Todd Graham said in a press release. “Scheduling is very important to the overall success of a program and this is the type of matchup that we are seeking to fulfill our future dates. This series will continue to help build our football program.”
The games against Oklahoma State replace a pair of matchups that were previously scheduled with LSU, but were changed at the Tigers’ request. Instead, the LSU series will begin on Sept. 12, 2026 in Tempe, and then finish up on Sept. 8, 2029 in Baton Rouge.
The Sun Devils and Cowboys have met up on the football field three times, with ASU holding a 2-1 series lead. Their last meeting came in 1993, when ASU won 12-10 in Tempe.
Along with the series with Oklahoma State, Arizona State announced it has scheduled a home-and-home matchup with San Diego State (2027 and 2028) along with individual home games against Kent State (2019) and Southern Utah (2023).
