Arizona State’s Jaelen Strong shows first-round potential at NFL Combine

Feb 21, 2015, 11:33 PM | Updated: Feb 22, 2015, 12:05 am

Former Arizona State wide receiver Jaelen Strong took his turn to show his stuff at the 2015 NFL Combine Saturday.

The (measured) 6-foot-2, 217-pound Strong posted a 123.0-inch broad jump, but it was his 4.44-second 40-yard dash and 42.0-inch vertical that got some attention.

Strong ran a 4.51-second initial time in the 40-yard-dash, which still makes quite a case for a player his size.

If he impresses scouts and coaches enough, Strong could be Arizona State’s first first-round NFL draft pick since Terrell Suggs in 2003.

Strong was also recently picked up by Roc Nation Sports, which also represents athletes like Robinson Cano, Kevin Durant, Victor Cruz, Dez Bryant and more. The agency is a part of rapper Jay-Z’s brand, Roc Nation, and launched in 2013.
