Lakewood BlueClaws to wear ‘CATurday’ uniforms
Jul 7, 2016, 8:00 AM
Minor league baseball teams do all they can to get fans in the ballpark.
This has ventured into the realm of special-event uniform designs, including the Brooklyn Cyclones’ Star Wars night jerseys, the Fresno Tacos jerseys, the Lehigh Valley Ironpigs’ Hump Day, Cheesesteak and Bacon jerseys, as well as the Norfolk Tides’ Spongebob jerseys.
Sometimes teams take a big hack and miss entirely on their themed jersey ideas, as we saw with the West Michigan Whitecaps last week.
This will unfortunately be the case for the Lakewood BlueClaws, the Philadelphia Phillies Class-A affiliate, as they will don some interesting jerseys when they take the field on Saturday… or as they’re calling it, “CATurday.”

Fans will be allowed to bring their cats to the game, who unfortunately also have to see the jerseys, and there will be a special rendition of “Take MEOW to the Ballgame” in the middle of the 7th inning.
The jerseys worn will be auctioned off to benefit BlueClaws Charities.
