Coming off a banner performance before the All-Star break, Jake Lamb continued his tear into the second half to win NL Player of the Week.

Lamb, 25, hit .291 with 20 home runs before his Final Vote campaign failed to put him in the All-Star Game. In an abbreviated “week” because of the break, the Diamondbacks third baseman played three games and went 7-for-12 with a solo home run, four RBI, two doubles and a triple.

His triple came in the 12th-inning of a tie game against the Dodgers on Saturday, eventually allowing him to score the winning run. The following game, his single and home run competed a two-day, four-at-bat stretch in which he hit for the cycle: a double, triple, single and home run in that order.

Lamb also leads the NL in slugging percentage and OPS, is the major league leader in triples, and is fifth in the NL in home runs.
