Goalkeeper’s horrendous own goal in Bournemouth friendly
Jul 21, 2016, 12:48 PM
Minnesota United squared off against Bournemouth in a preseason friendly. The match produced possibly the worst own goal ever.
Sammy Ndjock had allowed the game’s first goal two minutes prior to his terrible mistake where he lost control of the ball and it bounced straight into his own net.
Minnesota United plays in the North American Soccer League, which is just below Major League Soccer, and Bournemouth plays in the British Premier League.
Bournemouth, who won the match 4-0, had been training in the United States, but will now return to England.
They will have friendlies against Portsmouth, Reading, Cardiff and Valencia before beginning the season against Manchester United on Aug. 14.
