A highly touted pitching prospect in the Arizona Diamondbacks’ system will be making his debut Monday.

Braden Shipley, drafted No. 15 overall by the D-backs in 2013, has been ranked as a top-three prospect in the D-backs’ system since 2013 by Baseball America.

ESPN’s Keith Law ranked Shipley No. 22 overall earlier this month, saying the right-hander, “has a high floor and should be able to pitch in the majors this summer.”

The Arizona rotation currently has only two of its five starters from Opening Day in the rotation. Ace Zack Greinke is coming back from a right oblique strain, Shelby Miller is in Triple-A Reno and Rubby De La Rosa was diagnosed with a sprained UCL in late May.

Shipley is 8-5 in Reno this season with a 3.70 ERA.
