The Arizona Cardinals’ cornerback depth chart continues to reshape itself.
After working out cornerback Alan Ball on Thursday, the Cardinals have signed the 31-year-old free agent, as first reported Arizona Sports 98.7 FM’s John Gambadoro.

In a corresponding move, Arizona also released safety Tyrequek Zimmerman.
Ball recorded 20 tackles and five pass breakups for the Chicago Bears in 2015.
He played his first five seasons in the NFL (2007-2011) with the Dallas Cowboys and spent 2012 with the Houston Texans. He played the following two years in Jacksonville and his best season as a pro came in 2013 when he recorded 47 total tackles, two picks and 14 passes defended.
The Cardinals continue searching for cornerback depth with Justin Bethel sidelined on the PUP list and offseason signee Mike Jenkins out 2-3 weeks after breaking his hand and requiring surgery at the start of camp.
Ball could compete with rookie Brandon Williams for immediate opportunities.
Williams, who has only one year of cornerback experience at Texas A&M, has been running with the Cardinals’ first team the past week.
