Cardinals in midst of ‘crazy week’

Aug 1, 2011, 4:38 PM | Updated: 5:48 pm

Forgive Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt if he’s not really familiar with his training camp roster.

You see, the Cardinals have acquired 51 different players since Wednesday, including 10 who played for other teams last year, eight of their own draft picks and 22 undrafted rookie free agents.

So yeah, name tags are kind of a must for now.

“It has been the craziest week I think I’ve ever been around in however many years this has been in the NFL,” he told Sports 620 KTAR’s Doug and Wolf Monday.

The most recent area affected by change is at running back, where Tim Hightower is no longer part of the equation. Traded to Washington, the door is now open for third-year veteran Beanie Wells and rookie Ryan Williams.
