TEMPE, Ariz. – Arizona State University will honor Lionel Hollins and Byron Scott at their Feb. 17 game at Wells Fargo Arena against Washington. Both former Sun Devils will be in attendance and will have their jerseys raised to the rafters.

Hollins played at ASU from 1973-75, was a two-time team Most Valuable Player and averaged 17 points over the course of his two seasons. Scott was a Sun Devil from 1979-83 and his 17.5 career scoring average ranks fourth on ASU’s career list.

Both are members of the ASU Hall of Fame and the Pac-10 Hall of Honor after having received All-American honors during their days of donning maroon and gold.

In 1975, Hollins led the Sun Devils to two victories over ranked opponents in the NCAA Tournament and was drafted by the Portland Trail Blazers with the No. 6 overall pick in the 1975 NBA Draft. He joined Bill Walton and Maurice Lucas in leading the Blazers to their first and only championship in 1977.

After his three seasons at ASU, Scott ended his career as ASU’s all-time leading scorer and is currently sixth on the list with 1,572 points. Scott was the fourth overall pick in the 1983 NBA Draft by San Diego and won three championships as part of the famous Los Angeles “Showtime” Lakers in 1985, 1987 and 1988.

Scott is currently the head coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers, while Hollins is the head coach of the Memphis Grizzlies.

ASU alumnus James Harden, currently of the Oklahoma City Thunder, is also expected to be at Thursday’s game. The game against the Huskies tips off at 6:30 p.m.
