Trent Lockett: ‘It’s a good learning process’

Trent Lockett is still not 100 percent.
“(The ankle) is obviously still swollen and sore but this
time this week it’s a lot better than it was this time
last week,” he said Tuesday.
The junior playmaker reported he was “pretty happy” with
the way the ankle held up after playing two games in three
days last week, his first action since the injury occurred
on January 14.
Despite missing the last month, Lockett was the only Sun
Devil to score in double figures against both Utah and
Colorado
“If I catch the ball late, late in the shot clock, I have
a hard time getting past people but it’s getting better,”
he explained when asked when the ankle gives him the most
trouble.
“(I) still have to learn how to play without a good first
step and explosiveness because at the end of the day I’m
not always going to have that. It’s a good learning
process.”
Head coach Herb Sendek is limiting Lockett to only
halfcourt work in practice.
“I don’t know that he’ll have his normal explosiveness any
time the remainder of the season,” Sendek stated. “We
have to be careful and make sure we keep a good pulse on
how he feels.”
