Arizona Cardinals general manager Steve Keim never rests.

Heading into the third preseason game Sunday against the Houston Texans, Keim continues to scour the waiver wire for talent that could help the Cardinals heading into the 2016 season.

ESPN’s Josina Anderson tweeted that Keim and the Cardinals may be kicking the tires on a free agent cornerback.

In a second tweet, Anderson said she had spoken directly with Lewis, and he offered the following:

“I wouldn’t mind playing with (Darrelle) Revis. Bruce Arians was also coaching with the Steelers when I was there. I wouldn’t mind playing with Patrick Peterson too. Those teams are only getting stronger. I just want to put myself in the best situation. I want to play two to three more years and my goal is to win a Super Bowl.”

Lewis, 30, is a veteran of seven NFL seasons, spending the last three in New Orleans. Because of a hip injury, he played in only six games in 2015, starting one. Lewis started all 16 games in 2013 and 2014 for the Saints after joining them as a free agent following four years in Pittsburgh. New Orleans cut ties with the cornerback earlier this month after he began training camp on the physically unable to perform list.

The former Oregon State Beaver stands 6-feet tall and weighs 198 pounds. Earlier this week, it was reported that Lewis would visit Pittsburgh on Tuesday night. The Steelers originally chose the corner in the third round of the 2009 draft (96th overall) and he played 45 games in a Pittsburgh uniform, starting 17.

Lewis has seven interceptions, 53 passes defensed and 213 combined tackles in his career.

Arizona’s cornerback situation was bolstered this week by the return of Justin Bethel, who many believe will ultimately be the starter opposite Patrick Peterson when the Cardinals open the season Sept. 11 against New England. Rookie Brandon Williams has seen extensive work there in training camp. Arizona also signed veterans Mike Jenkins and Alan Ball earlier this summer to compete for playing time.
