Longhorns, 49ers send condolence letters to Arizona after Zach Hemmila’s death

Aug 24, 2016, 8:00 PM | Updated: 9:19 pm

Arizona football will go through the grieving process following the death of offensive lineman Zach Hemmila, but the Wildcats won’t be alone.

Several Pac-12 coaches offered their condolences following the tragedy, and the Arizona Cardinals allowed the Wildcats to lean on them by offering their practices facility for a few days.

But the well-wishes aren’t limited to those the Wildcats regularly come across.

The Texas Longhorns and the San Francisco 49ers took the time to sign and write a few prayers out to the Arizona football team.

Safe to say, the gesture meant a lot to the Wildcats.

Arizona receiver Nate Phillips posted the image of the letters to his Instagram account, writing “We appreciate the first class gesture and we thank you. We are wishing you well in this up coming season. #Hook’em #BearDown #Forever65.”

Phillips also thanked the 49ers, who signed a single card sent to Arizona.
