The Arizona State Sun Devils open up the 2016-17 campaign Saturday night against Northern Arizona Lumberjacks in a somewhat new Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe.
While we don’t know who will line up under center for the Sun Devils, we do for the Lumberjacks. They are led by sophomore quarterback and reigning FCS National Freshman of the Year, Case Cookus and his favorite target, wide receiver, Emmanuel Butler.
The Sun Devils are 37-14-4 all-time against the Big Sky and haven’t lost a game to the conference since losing to NAU in 1938. When the Lumberjacks travel 150 miles south on Saturday, they will have an upset on their mind.
