James Harden isn’t forgetting where he came from.
Just look at his latest shoes. The former Arizona State hoopster is releasing a new colorway of his adidas Crazylight Boosts on Friday. Harkening back to his clean-shaven days crossing helpless defenders over at Wells Fargo Arena, Harden’s new kicks will be gray with maroon trim.
Harden’s adidas logo on the tongue pops with gold that brings together the nod to the Sun Devils.
The business momentum was building for Harden, who released a series of Footlocker commercials this summer and is expected to debut his signature shoe soon. A leak of a prototype for that shoe didn’t exactly do him favors, but it’s likely the final product will be much more aesthetically pleasing.
As far as ASU is concerned, it pays that the school’s biggest NBA star is also aligned with the Sun Devils’ sports apparel brand.
