After a frustrating Week 1 loss against the New England Patriots, the Arizona Cardinals were after vengeance, and they delivered.

Week 2 featured a 40-7 blowout win for the Cardinals in Glendale against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Cardinals found their groove in the second quarter, scoring 24 unanswered points. Carson Palmer passed for 308 yards and three touchdowns in the game, and the breakthrough towards a blowout win for his team came on Jaron Brown’s 51-yard touchdown pass to give the Cardinals a 24-0 lead right before halftime.

Brown, who finished with two catches for 78 yards and that touchdown, credited the turnaround for the teams to a must-win mentality.

“It comes down to doing our job and eliminating silly mistakes,” Brown said during Off the Edge on Arizona Sports 98.7 FM. “We can’t beat ourselves. Arians is a mastermind at coming up with stuff and it’s our job as players to go out and execute those plays. We approached it as a must-win situation and came out more focused than ever.”

Since joining the Cardinals as an undrafted rookie in 2013, Brown has appeared in every game. With 96 yards in the first two games of the season, Brown is on pace to shatter his most yards in a season of 229. Brown cares solely on being dependable and remaining unselfish by supporting the other receivers in their high-octane offense.

“I want to be that guy that is dependable, that’s one thing that I always try to focus on in practice. It’s about making the most of the opportunity. I might not make any catches, but my run blocking and special teams should always be on point.

“We’re always happy when another guy scores. We’re a hungry group and we all want to be the guy to make the plays. We all know our roles, I know my role specifically. When opportunities come I’ll always be happy to take it.”

After the Week 2 “feel good” win to calm fans, the Cardinals are set to take on their first road game against Rex Ryan and the winless Buffalo Bills. Brown said the win against Tampa Bay was great, but there are still more mistakes that need to be fixed.

“It was great to get a win, we still have to look over the film and correct mistakes because there’s always going to be mistakes. Then we’ll look ahead to Buffalo. It’ll be the first road game this season, dealing with a hostile crowd. I’m sure their guys will be flying around and I’m sure coach Arians will have some great stuff drawn up for us.”
