Cardinals still interested in Braylon Edwards and Malcom Floyd
The Arizona Cardinals have over $14.6 million to spend and a hole at wide receiver left to fill. The question is, which wide receiver will they try to fill it with?
According to the Arizona Republic’s Kent Somers, there are two names they are considering.
Cardinals remain interested in Braylon. Not going to get into a bidding war from what I hear. Also have interest in Malcolm Floyd.
Not getting into a bidding war with a division rival over a questionable-at-best wide receiver seems like a smart business move by the Cards. Edwards has massive off the field issues and has dropped more passes than P-Diddy has records.
Floyd is an intriguing option but, like Edwards, has been inconsistent over his career.
While it is clear the Cardinals will try to add another wide receiver before the start of the season begins, it is not quite clear at what price they’re willing to do it.
While $14.6 million might sound like a lot of cap space, you have to figure the team is hoping a large portion of that will be dedicated to re-signing Larry Fitzgerald. Whatever is left over will likely go to the man who lines up next to him.
