Arizona Cardinals Pro-Bowl cornerback Patrick Peterson is getting paid. There is no doubt about that.
What does Peterson’s new deal look like compared to the other top cornerbacks in the NFL?
Glad you asked.
In looking at the Seattle Seahawks’ Richard Sherman and Cleveland Browns’ Joe Haden, Peterson is right in their ballpark — with a little more.
Sherman agreed to his deal in May just before the NFL Draft. Haden signed his a couple of days after the draft.
This tweet from Waiting For Next Year’s Jacob Rosen breaks it down easily.
Richard Sherman: 4yrs, $57.4M, $40M guaranteed
Joe Haden: 5 yrs, $68M, $45M guaranteed
Patrick Peterson: 5yrs, $70M, $48M guaranteed

And if you want to look at the yearly average, Peterson and Sherman are at $14 million with Haden’s at $13.5 million.
Getting into the bonuses and year to year against the cap number is confusing and often times not available when it comes to NFL contracts.
So, from what we know with the above, Peterson is the highest paid corner in the league.
