One practice in, Kolb is surprising (in a good way)

Kevin Kolb practiced for the first time with the Cardinals Thursday, a moment that was as anticipated as any in recent history for the team.
With expectations galore, the new QB faced quite a bit of pressure.
He didn’t disappoint.
“He was impressive,” Sports 620 KTAR’s Ron Wolfley said on the Doug and Wolf Show Friday. “The ball does, indeed, come out of his hand nicely; he spins it very nicely.
“Not only that, he’s got a quicker release than what I thought.”
That Kolb is already impressing is, well, for lack of a better word, impressive.
And yes, it’s only been one practice, something Wolfley made sure to note. However, for a guy people have spent many hours watching tape on, it is nice to see that he is even better than originally thought.
“To me he looked a lot more athletic in that uniform than what I thought as well,” Wolfley added.
Sports 620 KTAR’s Doug Franz agreed, saying if the knock on Kolb was that he struggled avoiding the pass rush and delivering the ball, he seemed just fine Thursday.
And, at the very least, Kolb already knows where to go with the ball when he’s in trouble.
“If he got flushed from the pocket the eyes went to one-one,” Franz said, noting how Kolb was looking for Larry Fitzgerald.
