Suns’ Alan Williams featured on koozies to benefit Phoenix animal rescue

Oct 20, 2016, 3:00 PM

A single tweet sent by Suns center Alan Williams will do more than most other collections of 140 characters.

The niche basketball fan blog NBA Catwatch, which chronicles pro basketball players who own cats, has created a koozie featuring its logo and one tweet by the Phoenix center. Sales for the koozies will be donated to the HALO Animal Rescue in Phoenix, according to NBA Catwatch’s website.

The origin of the tweet is a story itself.

NBA Catwatch’s Twitter asked Williams if he liked cats after learning he was allergic to dogs. It turns out the big man nicknamed Big Sauce is even more allergic to cats. Williams, however, showed no malice toward cat lovers in his next tweet. That’s the one featured on the koozies.

The koozies are $10 or $18 for two and are on sale through the end of October. Buyers can also purchase NBA Catwatch shirts with a koozie to save $2. Proceeds for the shirts will go toward NBA Catwatch’s general fund, which have already raised more than $9,000 for animal shelters across the nation, according to the site.
