After last weekend’s 32-0 rout of the Houston Texans, much was made of the second-half play of quarterback Logan Thomas.
The rookie signal caller logged a passer rating of 133.7 in the game, thanks to his 11 completions on 12 attempts, touchdown and 113 yards passing.
On Saturday, it was Thomas’ competition for the third-string spot who got the second half at TCF Bank Stadium in Minnesota. Suffice it to say, he’ll be no such topic of discussion come Monday morning when the Cardinals return to Glendale to resume training camp.
Against the Minnesota Vikings, Lindley was 8-for-15 passing, logging just 64 yards through the air. His passer rating was a poor 64.3.
Despite the avoidance of turnovers, Lindley often appeared generally flustered in the second half.
The third-year quarterback started the third quarter by leading a 10-minute touchdown drive, which included a pair of fourth-down conversions and three pass completions.
Lindley did have a fumble to his name, coming on 4th and Goal, though the snap was high and away from him and the play resulted in an eventual rushing touchdown for the Cardinals late in the fourth quarter.
