The Arizona Cardinals have decided on their kicker, choosing rookie Chandler Catanzaro over veteran Jay Feely.
Feely tweeted about his release Monday morning.
It's been an honor to play for the @AZCardinals
Michael Bidwill, thank you for your leadership and friendship.
AZ will still be home!

Feely spent the last four seasons of his career in Arizona. Though his 127 points in 2013 represented his highest mark with the Cardinals and best total since 2005, his struggles on kickoffs and sub-par accuracy led the team to bring in competition this camp, and his missed 48-yard attempt against the Cincinnati Bengals Sunday night may have sealed his fate.
As a Cardinal, Feely connected on 98 of 115 field goals along with all 124 of his extra point attempts.
So the team will now turn to Catanzaro, who went undrafted out of Clemson but has been fairly impressive during training camp. The ACC’s second all-time leading scorer, he made 67 of 82 field goal attempts and 203 of 207 extra points during his four-year career with the Tigers.
Catanzaro, 23, set school records for PATs made, field goals of 40+ yards (24) and consecutive made field goals (20, in 2011-12).
In preseason action this year, he connected on all four of his field goal attempts and did not miss on any of his four extra point tries, including the extra-long ones in the first game.
