Report: Arizona Cardinals bring James Harrison in for a visit

Aug 27, 2014, 5:21 PM | Updated: Aug 28, 2014, 6:22 am

Might the Arizona Cardinals be interested in signing one of the biggest villains in their team’s history?

Harrison, Cardinals fans likely recall, is the player who intercepted Kurt Warner’s red zone pass at the end of the first half in Super Bowl XLIII and returned it 100 yards for a momentum-swinging touchdown.

In his 11-year NFL career, Harrison has amassed 472 total tackles along with 66 QB sacks, six interceptions and nine fumble recoveries.

The Cards’ interest in Harrison may be more for depth purposes than anything else. Cardinals coach Bruce Arians is familiar with the former Steeler from their time together in Pittsburgh, and he may just be looking to see what kind of shape the free agent outside linebacker is in.

Though Harrison is a five-time Pro Bowl selection and a former AP Defensive Player of the Year, he is 36 years old and coming off a 2013 season in which he tallied 16 total tackles with just two sacks for the Cincinnati Bengals.
