Despite Arizona’s thrilling 65-63 win over No. 12 Michigan State in the Armed Forces Classic on Friday, the Wildcats did not gain any ground in the rankings.
The new AP Poll was released on Monday, and there wasn’t much shakeup. The most notable movement was Indiana jumping in front of Arizona to No. 6 (and receiving one first-place vote). The Hoosiers were previously ranked 11th, and they garnered some respect after their 103-99 win over then-No. 3 Kansas.
Arizona’s next matchup against a top-25 team will be on Dec. 3 against No. 14 Gonzaga at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Barring letdowns from other top-10 teams, their game against the Zags may be the next time the Wildcats can make a splash in the polls. From now until Dec. 3 the Wildcats have a favorable schedule, as they play five games against teams not in a power-five conference.
Their next game will be against CSU Bakersfield at home on Nov. 15 at 6 p.m. MST.
