I hate to do it, but I’m going to steal a phrase from San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh.

“Who’s got it better than us?”

If you’re a Valley football fan who roots for the Arizona Cardinals and Arizona State Sun Devils, you can respond to that above question with “nobody.”

The Cardinals are 5-1 for the first time since 1976 and are in first place in the NFC West by a game-and-a-half heading into their Week 8 showdown with the Philadelphia Eagles Sunday.

The Arizona State Sun Devils are also 5-1, have won two straight and are ranked 14th in the nation as they prepare to take on the Washington Huskies in Seattle Saturday night.

The teams’ combined winning percentage of .833 is the best among all metropolitan areas that feature NFL franchises and FBS college football programs.
