According to multiple reports, Arizona State’s wide receivers coach Jay Norvell has accepted the heading coaching job at Nevada.

Rittenberg reports that Norvell interviewed Wednesday for the position, along with Eastern Washington coach Beau Baldwin and Vanderbilt offensive coordinator Andy Ludwig.

Norvell only spent one season with the Sun Devils as the receivers coach after coming on from the University of Texas.

It may come as a surprise for many ASU fans, seeing that Norvell was among the coaches that recruited Alabama quarterback Blake Barnett to the desert.

The 53-year-old replaces Brian Polian, who went 23-27 in four seasons at Nevada.
