Michael Floyd’s unemployment lasted about 24 hours.

The receiver, cut by the Arizona Cardinals Wednesday, just two days after being arrested in Scottsdale on a DUI charge, has been claimed by one of the favorites to win Super Bowl LI, according to ESPN’s Field Yates.

The Patriots (11-2) are familiar with Floyd, having faced him in a Week 1 win over the Cardinals at University of Phoenix Stadium. In that game, Floyd was targeted seven times, catching three passes for 61 yards. It was his fourth-highest yardage total of the season.

Floyd could add a downfield threat in the Patriots’ passing game. Much of what New England does through the air is underneath stuff, utilizing Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola. Along with Chris Hogan, who is averaging over 19 yards per catch, Floyd could give Tom Brady another threat to stretch the field, especially with big play tight end Rob Gronkowski lost for the season.
