Wildcats add a quarterback to 2012 class

The University of Arizona has added a quarterback to their 2012 recruiting class.

Nate Sudfeld, a 6-foor-5, 220 pound quarterback from Modesto Christian High School in Modesto, Calif. committed to the Wildcats.

Sudfeld is the fourth player, and second quarterback, to commit to UA’s 2012 class and chose the Wildcats over other Pac-12 schools Stanford, UCLA and Oregon State.

Arizona currently has depth at the quarterback position, but Sudfeld may be able to contribute, or start, in either the 2013 or 2014 seasons.

By all accounts Sudfeld is a quality recruit who will help the Wildcats in the future.

ESPN says that the four star recruit, “may be one of the best pure passers this class has to offer. Sudfeld possesses prototypical measurables, close to elite arm strength, a smooth and quick release and more than adequate athleticism for the position.”

Sudfeld’s coach also had positive things to say about the young quarterback.

“He is the prototypical QB with a high football aptitude,” Modesto Christian High coach Steve Gleason told WildcatSportsReport.com. “He is a student of the game as well as a 4.0+ GPA, tremendous footwork, and a great passer. His character is never in question and he is always asking what he can do to get better.”
