Petersen turns down Wildcats head coaching job
And the search continues.
Current Boise State football head coach Chris Petersen was favored to become the new head coach of the Arizona Wildcats, but he apparently has removed himself from consideration.
“I heard that Chris Peterson of Boise State said no on the UofA job. Mike Bellotti is no on the clock and I hear there is interest!” tweeted Arizona Sports 620’s Mark Asher.
It’s nice to see the Wildcats are already moving on.
Mike Bellotti is the former head coach of Oregon and other programs. In July 2009, he hung up his clipboard to take over the athletic director position at Oregon, which he then resigned from to become an analyst from ESPN.
While the head coach at Oregon, Bellotti posted a 116-55 record, gave the school its first 10-win season and turned the Ducks into a top 10 school.
