Shane Doan becomes third active player to reach 1,500 career NHL games

Shane Doan’s storybook career has added another chapter.
The face of the Arizona Coyotes has appeared in his 1,500th career NHL game. Doan becomes the third active player to reach this accomplishment, joining Jaromir Jagr and Jerome Iginla.

Fans showered Doan with cowboy hats during his warmup around the rink, and the 40-year-old donned his own hat as well.

In Doan’s 21 years in the league, all with the Coyotes, he has amassed 556 goals and 955 total points. Arizona selected Doan with the seventh-overall pick in the 1995 NHL draft.
