In Drew Stanton we trust.
That was the overwhelming message from over three-quarters of Arizona Cardinals fans when asked whether the 8-1 Cards are capable of advancing to this year’s NFL playoffs without quarterback Carson Palmer, who will miss the rest of the season with an ACL injury.
In Monday’s Sanderson Ford Poll Question of the Day, we asked: Can the Arizona Cardinals make the playoffs with Drew Stanton at quarterback?
Whether it was Stanton’s ability to lead the Cards to a pair of victories earlier this season, a belief in coach Bruce Arians to navigate his team through choppy waters, or just sheer optimism, 76 percent of the nearly 1,000 fans who opined said the Cardinals can and will earn a playoff berth this season.
Another 17 percent were slightly less optimistic, choosing the response, “I think so, but it will be tough.” Just 2 percent are doubtful about the team’s playoff prospects, and 5 percent said there’s “not a chance” the Cards will head to the postseason minus Palmer.
