Arizona Wildcats coach Rodriguez praises Washington State’s pass attack, defense

LISTEN: Rich Rodriguez - Arizona head coach

Under the guidance of pass-oriented coach Mike Leach, the Washington State Cougars are No. 1 in nation in passing yards per game (490) and second-to-last in rushing yards per contest (44.7) through their first seven games.

But Arizona Wildcats coach Rich Rodriguez praised Leach’s unbalanced offensive approach, noting UA (5-1, 2-1 Pac-12) will have its hands full when it heads to Pullman, Washington to take on the Cougars (2-5, 1-3) on Saturday.

“There’s a method to his so-called madness,” Rodriguez told Doug and Wolf on Arizona Sports 98.7 FM Monday. “They don’t mind throwing from any angles and any down and distance, and throw it 70-something times.”
