Derrick Williams on others going pro: NoSirNotMe
Arizona Wildcats fans, anxious over Derrick Williams’ potential departure, have found themselves hanging on his every word…and tweet.
In the latest installment of “As Derrick Williams’ Draft Status Turns,” the sophomore responded to the news of Duke star Kyrie Irving entering the draft with, well, an interesting choice of words.
Damn.. Everybody leaving today..?! #NoSirNotMe
What is Williams actually saying here? Is he even trying to say anything at all? The Pac-10 Player of the Year, in subsequent tweets, basically said he has until the April 24th deadline to decide on his future so there is really no rush to make a decision.
Williams taking his time, though, can be considered a positive development for anyone that wants to see him return for his junior season. Likely top two selection if he were to enter the draft, it was generally assumed his decision to go pro was all but a formality, that there was no chance he’d pass up the millions of dollars that would come with an NBA contract.
He loves me, he loves me not. He’s staying, he’s going. The only one who really knows what will happen is Derrick Williams himself, and from what anyone can tell he is not yet sure of what he’ll ultimately decide. At this point, on April 6, that has to be considered good news for anyone hoping he comes back. Right?
