Struggles aside, Miller knows others would ‘love to be’ Arizona

The Arizona Wildcats are 19-9 on the season and 10-5 in
the Pac-12, a record that is not bad, but may not be good
enough to earn an at-large bid into the NCAA Tournament.

Head coach Sean Miller is not worried about making the
tournament – at least, not in the way some may think he
is. Instead, the coach told Arizona Sports 620’s Burns and
Gambo he just wants his team to focus on winning the games
that are left on the schedule.

“Not to really talk about the tournament, you know you
can’t control it as a coach,” Miller said. “It’s about
practice…it’s really not the things the outside world
sees. What makes you a good team is by taking care of
business on a daily basis, making sure that everybody on
your team is all in, playing with energy and
concentrating.”

Miller said that becomes more difficult late in the
season, as players tend to put less emphasis on practice
as they do the games.

“I think it’s your job as a coach to keep that compass on
the things that mean the most.”

That means focusing on Thursday’s game against Pac-12
bottom-dwelling USC, followed by Saturday’s home tilt
against UCLA, which are the final games Arizona will play
in Tucson this season – and last games some Wildcats will
ever play there.
