PHOENIX – The Arizona Cardinals lost back-up quarterback John Skelton to an injury during the team’s preseason game against the Green Bay Packers on Friday night.

Skelton is believed to have a sprained ankle.

The team was counting on Skelton to be the team’s back-up quarterback to Kevin Kolb this season and continue to develop.

No word on the severity of Skelton’s injury has been released yet.
