BALTIMORE (AP) — Anthony Davis scored 14 points and Ryan Anderson had 11 as the New Orleans Pelicans beat the Washington Wizards 88-84 on Monday night in the next-to-last preseason game for both teams.
Led by 10 points from Davis, who went 5 for 5 from the field, the Pelicans went on a 24-4 run to take a 28-12 lead with 47.4 seconds left in the first quarter.
Early in the third quarter, Davis sprained his right wrist and didn’t return.
Washington rested point guard John Wall and forward Paul Pierce. Pierce bruised his right knee on Friday against Charlotte.
The Wizards, led by Kevin Seraphin’s 14 points, rebounded from a 29-point deficit to get within 87-84 with 18 seconds to play.
