AUBURN, Ala. (AP) — Nick Marshall was a busy man at Auburn’s pro day, throwing passes, performing in defensive back drills and finally fielding punts.
It’s the latest audition for a player who started his college career as a defensive back at Georgia and, as a quarterback, led Auburn into the national championship game two years ago.
NFL scouts and coaches, including the New England Patriots’ Bill Belichick, watched Marshall and teammates work out Tuesday. Marshall is focused on playing cornerback now.
NFL Network analyst Mike Mayock says Marshall’s athleticism and “willingness to do whatever it takes” stand out.
Marshall is Auburn’s most versatile and intriguing prospect, even if he likely won’t be the first one drafted.
Marshall says he’s focusing on cornerback but is “going to do whatever they want me to do.”
