Liverpool rallies late to beat Bolton 2-1 in FA Cup

Raheem Sterling tied the score in the 86th minute, Philippe Coutinho curled a 20-yard shot over goalkeeper Andy Lonergan in stoppage time and Liverpool won 2-1 at Bolton on Wednesday night in an FA Cup fourth-round replay.

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard made his 700th appearance for the Reds, who play at Crystal Palace in the fifth round.

Second-tier Bolton went ahead when Eidur Gudjohnsen converted a penalty kick in the 59th minute after Martin Skrtel fouled Zach Clough.

Bolton played a man short after Neil Danns was given a second yellow card for a late challenge on Joe Allen in the 66th.

Real Madrid beat visiting Sevilla 2-1 to open a four-point lead over second-place Barcelona in the Spanish league.

James Rodriguez put Madrid (18-3) ahead in the 12th minute, then left in the 25th after injuring his right foot. Sevilla goalkeeper Antonio “Beto” Bastos came out in the 35th after colliding with Madrid’s Karim Benzema, and substitute Jese Rodriguez doubled the lead a minute later.

Madrid defender Sergio Ramos clutched his left thigh and asked to be substituted in the eight minute.

Iago Aspas scored in the 80th for Sevilla.

Last-place Borussia Dortmund lost 1-0 at home to Augsburg, which got a 50th-minute goal from Raul Bobadilla. The visitors played a man short after Christoph Janker was ejected in the 64th.

Augsburg (11-8) moved into fourth place. Dortmund (4-11-4) remained two points behind Hertha Berlin (5-11-3), which lost 1-0 to Bayer Leverkusen.

FRANCE

Bastia beat Monaco 7-6 on penalty kicks following a 0-0 tie and advanced to the French League Cup final against defending champion Paris Saint-Germain on April 11.

Sebastien Squillaci, a former Monaco player, converted the decisive kick for visiting Bastia. PSG beat Bastia 2-0 in the 1995 final.
