The Houston Astros unveiled the new “Space City” Nike City Connect uniform on Sunday that boasts the traditional Astro orange with a dark shade of blue.
The Astros will wear the new uniforms on April 20th when they take on the Los Angeles Angels.
Houston’s Space City is the next chapter of the NASA connection that they share with the Rockets.

“Our City Connect uniform links the past and the present, making the old new, with a nod to our city’s great history of space travel,” senior vice president of communications and marketing Anita Sehgal said in a press release.
“The Astros retro elements with a forward-thinking approach matches the constant pursuit of new opportunities and extraordinary wins that represent the great city of Houston.”
The “Space City” jerseys and hats are completed with rainbow socks, a tip of the cap to the 1970’s team’s uniforms and a patch that includes the four different Houston area codes with a play on the Texas flag.
The Arizona Diamondbacks debuted their City Connect jerseys with the “Serpientes” logo across the chest with a sand-colored hat and jersey.
