Phoenix Mercury wing Kahleah Copper earned Second Team All-WNBA honors for the 2024 season, her first in the Valley.

Copper finished third in the league with 21.1 points per game, only trailing MVP A’ja Wilson and fellow Second Team All-WNBA member Arike Ogunbowale. Copper led the Mercury to a playoffs berth and won a gold medal at the Paris Olympics this past summer for Team USA with Phoenix teammates Brittney Griner and Diana Taurasi.

The Mercury dealt forwards Brianna Turner and Michaela Onyenwere, plus first-round picks in 2024 and 2026, a 2025 second-rounder and a 2026 second-round pick swap to the Chicago Sky for Copper last offseason.

Copper set a career high in scoring for the Mercury. She added 4.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game and shot 43.5% from the field (31.4% from 3). The veteran was named an All-Star for the fourth time in her career.

She scored at least 30 points in nine games, including a season-high 38 points on May 18 against the Atlanta Dream.

The 30-year-old is under contract for another season while the Mercury face uncertainty with Taurasi’s looming retirement decision.
