While much of the attention surrounding the Arizona Cardinals and their first-round pick has revolved around the quarterback position, there are other areas of the team they may seek to address with the 13th overall selection.

Like, perhaps, linebacker.

One of the best linebackers in the draft is Alabama’s Reuben Foster, and most mocks have him being available for the Cardinals — if they want him.

Whether they do (or will) is not yet know, what is confirmed is they have at least enough interest to want to take a closer look at the prospect.

Last season, Foster led Alabama with 115 tackles — 13 of which were for losses — while adding five sacks. The 6-foot, 229-pound linebacker had rotator cuff surgery in February, from which he is still recovering.

A unanimous first-team All-American and All-SEC pick in 2016, Foster won the Butkus Award and was a finalist for the Bednarik Award. He would not necessarily fill a pressing need for the Cardinals, but last week when he was asked about adding a young inside linebacker, head coach Bruce Arians said he would love to find a player who could learn under Karlos Dansby.

Of course, Arians also said he would like to find a young player to learn behind safety Antoine Bethea and receiver Larry Fitzgerald as well as QB Carson Palmer, so the team is not likely to tab Foster just because he would have time to learn now while preparing for the future.
